Luxury Business Institute Korea Inc.(hereinafter referred to as ‘LBI Korea’ or the ‘Company’) has set and made public the following personal information policy to protect the personal information of the information subject (hereinafter referred to as ‘user’ or ‘you’) and handle related difficulties swiftly and smoothly according to Article 30 of the Privacy Act.

Article 1 (Collected Personal Information / purpose of collecting and using) LBI Korea collects and uses personal information for the following purposes. Collected personal information shall not be used for any purpose other than the following. And if the purpose of use changes, we will implement necessary measures, such as receiving your consent under Article 18 of the Privacy Act. The purpose and collected items of personal information are as follows:

Article 2 (Processing and retention period of personal information) LBI Korea processes and retains personal information within the period of personal information retention and utilization pursuant to the Act or within the period of personal information retention and utilization agreed upon when collecting personal information from user. Each personal information processing and retention period is as follows :

1. Homepage Sign up and administration: Until the subscriber withdraws

– If investigation is underway according to the violation of the related statutes, etc., retention period is until the end of the investigation.

– If any bonds or liabilities related to the use of the website remain, the information shall be kept until the settlement of the bonds and liabilities relationship.

2. Send retail training information, newsletter, invitation to open classes and events: 5 years

3. Consulting of retail training program: 5 years

4. Marketing using CRM: 5 years

If you are a member of this homepage, personal information for the purpose of 2 through 4 shall be processed and held until withdrawal. And if you are not a member, the processing and retention period of personal information is 5 years. Even before the end of the five-year period, you may request to stop receiving information via email.  And if the retention period expires, LBI Korea may ask you if you want to renew the period.

Article 3 (Provide a third party with personal information or transfer it abroad) LBI Korea processes each personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Personal Information Processing purpose). Personal information is provided to third parties, both inside and outside of the country, only if it falls under Articles 17 and 18 of the Privacy Act, such as the consent of user and special regulations of the law. LBI Korea provides personal information to the following third parties, and the third party to which it will be provided may be changed or added.

Article 4 (User’s Rights and How to Exercise Those Rights) At any time, users may exercise their rights regarding the protection of personal information in any of the following terms:

1. Access to personal information

2. Correction request if there is an error

3. Delete request

4. Processing stop request

You may exercise the above rights through letter, telephone, e-mail or fax, and the company will take action without delay. If you request deletion or correction of personal information errors, we won’t use or provide such personal information until the correction or deletion have been completed. The above items can be carried out through your legal representatives or those who have been delegated. In such a case, you must submit a letter of attorney in accordance with Appendix No. 11 of the Enforcement Rules of the Privacy Act. The following cases may limit the reading and correction of personal information.

1. In case there is a danger of a significant harm to the life, body, property or interests of a person or a third party

2. In case there is a risk of significant disruption to the service provider’s tasks

3. A violation of the law

Article 5 (Destruction of Personal Information) As a rule, LBI Korea destroys personal information immediately, when it becomes unnecessary (ex. When the retention period is expired or accomplish the purpose of processing personal information). However, personal information can be stored safely for a designated amount of time, even after the user unsubscribes, if LBI Korea has obtained separate consent from the user to store the personal information for a certain amount of time, or if the Company is obligated by law to store the information for a specific time period.

1. Destruction procedure

The Company selects personal information to be destroyed and destroy it with the approval of the Chief Privacy Officer.

2. Destruction method

If the company has recorded and stored personal information in electronic file format, the information will be destroyed using un-restorable methods. Personal information recorded and stored in a paper document may be destroyed by grinding or incineration.

Article 6 (LBI Korea’s Efforts to Protect Personal Information) LBI Korea takes the following measures to protect personal information :

1. Administrative measures

Access to personal information is restricted to a minimum number of people as follows:

  • The Chief Privacy Officer
  • Person in charge of member management and website administration
  • Employee who does marketing, promotion and sales activities directly to the customer.
  • Any person whose work requires the handling of personal information 

2. Technical measures

We restrict access to personal information processing system and protect user’s personal information against breaches with security programs and vaccine programs.

3. Physical measures

We have secured the data processing room and controlled access to the data storage room.

Article 7 (Collection of personal information by Cookie) The Company uses a ‘cookie’ that automatically saves and loads use information to provide users with personalized services. Cookies are a small amount of information sent to your computer browser by the server (http) used to run the website. Cookies are also saved on your hard disk within your PC.

1. Purpose of use of cookies

Cookies are used to provide optimized information to users by identifying their visits on websites, use of each service, popular search terms, and secure connection.

2. Installation, operation, rejection of cookies

You can decline to save cookies via Tools at the top of your web browser > Internet Options > Options settings on the Privacy menu.

3. If you refuse to save cookies, you may experience difficulties in using customized services.

Article 7 (The Chief Privacy Officer and the Responsible Personnel) LBI Korea has designated the following persons as the Chief Privacy Officer and Personal Information Manager. They will be responsible for answering LBI Korea users’ inquiries regarding personal information and resolving any related complaints. You can contact the following departments for any inquiries, complaints handling, and damage relief related to the use of LBI Korea services. The company will answer and process your inquiry without delay.

Article 8 (claim for access to personal information) Users can make a claim to the related department (of Article 7) for requesting access to personal information according to Article 35 of the Privacy Act. LBI Korea will try to swiftly process user’s claim for personal information access.

Article 10 (Obligation to Notify Before Amendments) This Privacy Policy will apply to 2000.6.1. Users will be notified of any revisions to this Privacy Policy, including any newly added, deleted or updated information, through ‘Notice’ at least seven (7) days prior to the amendments.
