Jean-Noël Kapferer is the European authority on branding, internationally recognized as one of the most influential brand experts. Reputed professor on brand management he wrote fifteen books on communication and brands. Active researcher, he now focuses on the evolution of luxury and is the co-author of The Luxury Strategy (Break the rules of marketing to build luxury brands), held as the most influential reference book for luxury executives worldwide. His latest book is How can luxury brands grow yet remain rare ?. An HEC Paris graduate, he holds a PhD from Northwestern University, USA, and leads specialized seminars on luxury in China, Korea, Japan, USA and Europe. JN Kapferer is also an active consultant and the advisor of the INSEEC President.
Alain Brière is Vice President Sales & Marketing for Oetker Hotel Collection, based at Le Bristol Paris. He started his professional career at Hilton International in Paris as Head of Sales. From 1978 to 1988, he held different positions at Inter-Continental Hotels Group in Paris and was appointed Marketing Regional Director France, Switzerland and Mediterranean. He then joined Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts as Vice President Sales & Marketing in Abu Dhabi. In 1995, he became Vice President Marketing of the brand, acting a key role in the recast of the visual identity of the Group and in its international development. After 12 years at Le Méridien, he moved to JJW Hotels & Resorts in London as Vice President Sales & Marketing for 2 years and joined Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts as Head of Sales & Marketing in Shanghai and then in Muscat (Oman). In 2007, he was then appointed Vice President Sales & Marketing at MAF Hospitality (Majid Al Futtaim Group), in Dubaï where he was in charge of the implementation of the new brand of the Group, IXIR Hotels and Resorts.
Jean Pierre Boisivon
Since November 2008, Jean-Pierre Boisivon is the Chairman of the CORA (Insurance advisory and reflection council), he is also counselor to the Chairman of the FNEGE (French National foundation for education and management), Special Advisor to the President of INSEEC and Emeritus Professor at Paris 2 University in Paris. He started his professional career as a teacher (1964-1969), then a professor (1979-2000), became the General Manager in Paris of the French bank “Caisse d‘Epargne” (1978-1985) and then the General Secretary of French Banks’ Union (1985-1987). Moving to the public sector, he directed Evaluation and Forecasting at the Ministry of National Education (1987-1990) in France. He returned in the private sector to manage during 7 years the ESSEC Group, one of the top French business schools. Then, he became General Manager of the “Institut de l’entreprise” from 1998 to 2008. He graduated from IEP Paris, has a Ph.D of Economics. Jean-Pierre Boisivon is Commander of the Legion of Honour and Knight of the National Order of Merit.
Michel Chevalier has now been for more than 10 years a consultant with EIM in Paris & Shanghai, and a visiting Professor at HEC (Top French business school) and ISML in Paris. He started his career as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and later with S.C. Johnson. He was then General Manager of Paco Rabanne perfumes & Chairman of Paco Rabanne fashion (Paris). He moved to Tokyo and Hong Kong as Executive Vice President of Bluebell Asia Group. At the beginning of his career, he had also the opportunity to teach in top management schools in France, INSEAD and HEC. He has co-authored several books including Pro Logo (with G Mazzalovo), Luxury Brand Management (with G Mazzalovo), Les 100 mots du Marketing and Luxury China : opportunities and Market Potential (with PX LU) and Luxury Retail Management (with Michel Gutsatz). He graduated from HEC in France and holds a MBA and Doctorate from Harvard University where he specialized in marketing.
Philippe Guitelmann currently heads Guerlain’s Global Travel Retail business. He started his career at Parfums Christian Dior where he spent 14 years. He began within the Belgium and the UK subsidiaries, then in Travel Retail where he was appointed Marketing Director and then Asia-Pacific Regional Director based in Honk Kong. In 2009, he settled in London to be Regional Europe Director for NARS. He graduated from ESCP, one of the top French business schools.
